The open comb Merkur 41c features the classic 1904 handle design. The chrome plating gives the razor a classic look. Open comb razors are excellent for heavy beards but they are recommended for more experienced users who are comfortable using a standard closed comb.

Recently purchased and I am more than happy. It's very mild. Compared to my Merkur Futur i would say it's about like the Futur set to number 2 out of 5. Strongly recommend for beginners and for ladies and gentleman who like to shave their heads. I had two head shavings with zero cuts. My hair (or what is left of it) was about 3 to 4 mm long, ok short. No problems. Finally I found my DE razor for my head! Thank you Shaving.ie, thank you Ireland! See you again! Cheers from Croatia!

Fantastic Razor
I bought this as a replacement for my partially broken Merkur 23c. It is of excellent quality and provides a great shave too. I did not notice a difference between the open and closed comb styles of razors. I like that the handles are interchangeable as my 23c has a longer handle which I prefer. Overall it is made to a high standard.

Perfect
A soft open comb razor. This is my first after several closed comb. I can almost use it everyday. Strongly recommended.

Good
I have just received it and used once. Before, I had used 1904 closed comb versiyon (42c). This is a bit more aggressive but I liked the feeling it have during and After Shave. The handle is short but I like such handles. I recommend this strongly.
