Close shave!
Great head for guys with a tough beard, the R89 is too mild for me. This has reduced shaving time for me, and I can use a wider range of blades instead of just Feathers.

Best Aggressive Razor
This razor is the best in it's class. If you are looking for an aggressive razor for tough whiskers this is it! I do not recommend this as your only razor. This is great for heavy growth. Great audible feed back. The key is to be mindful not to apply any pressure. The razor will do all the work. I coupled this head with a heavy handle from the matador toro mastiff.

Great way to try the R41
I already owned an Edwin Jagger DE89 Barley Chrome and ATT Kronos, and wanted to try the R41 without having to buy an entire razor. The replacement head was a perfect solution. It is definitely aggressive, and I would not want to use the R41 every day, but it can reward you with a great shave if you take your time.

Great Blade
Great blade for perfect shave. Just a too aggressive for my skin but excellent.

A really smooth shave
With just a little extra care, this head can give a smooth one-pass shave to even sensitive facial skin. I mounted my R41 head to a vintage Gillette gold Fat Boy handle and I seemed to have greater control of the blade angle. There were no cuts or nicks on the first shave.

My favorite razor...
I ordered the R41 head and put it on my Bulldog Handle. What a terrific combo! All the weight and balance that you could expect from a first class shaver. You have to pay attention when using the R41, but I always find it to be a close, comfortable shave.

Smooth shaves
Definitely aggressive. Love you have the option to buy the head only! For me this is a very efficient shaver which allows me to get very close shaves with less passes leaving no irritation. I have it on a bulldog handle and have tried persona lab blues, feathers and polsilver super iridiums and have achieved great results with all of them. My new favorite!

Excellent Razor
I have 89 razor. With sharp edges such as "Feather" it shaves simply superbly. But with soft and gentle edges, such as Derby or Personna, shaving insufficiently clean. And this device for them approaches just right. Thus, one handle and two heads (open and closed) is the universal device allowing comfortably to have a shave at presence of any variant of edges.

A good upgrade to an Edwin Jager or Muhle closed comb razor
Despite the reputation for aggressiveness of the Muhle 41c open comb razor, I found the shave very smooth. It is very much better than the Fatip Grande for instance. Fit and finish is excellent and fits to the handle of the Edwin Jagger. Being able to buy the head pieces when you already have a beginner's razor is very sensible and saves money. In my case, I bought the Shavecraft stainless steel handle and the balance and weight of the razor is excellent.
