The Speick shaving stick soap by Walter Rau Speickwerk creates an impressive lather and has a very pleasant herbal scent. As with all pure soaps it is free from preservatives and is a genuine traditional wet shaving product. The lather holds firm giving a smooth and gentle shave. Shave sticks are very economical and are excellent value due to their long life span.
I've been a long-time user of Speick's aftershave so decided to try this. Easy to apply and lather, pleasant (slightly medicinal) smell, leaves my skin feeling great. If you've never tried a soap stick, this is the one to convert you.

I've tired a few of the soaps & creams available on the website & I keep coming back to the Speik stick. It lathers easily, the slickness is good and it gives me an irritation-free shave. I was a little dubious about the fragrance on my first couple of uses, but have grown to like it. I initially brought it as a convenient travel product, but it's become my regular everyday soap.
Great alternative to my Speick Shaving cream, when I don't have enough time for using bowl or when I want extra face massage, I go for this way. You can also superlather with a combo of Speick Soap Stick on your face & Shaving cream in the bowl = Wonderful feeling if you appreciate an extra amount of lather sometimes to break the routine. Like all Speick products, the appreciation of the scent is very personal, I was a little surprised first, but I got used to it very quickly and now I'm addicted. It's very unique.
I bought the stick as I was getting an order for my father-in-law. I already use the Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood puck in the wooden bowl. I was going to use the stick for holidays By the way, the stick is completely different to the Speck bowl soap. The stick is pink and seems to leather up much better than the white soap in the bowl (which is what I bought for my father in law). Also the stick comes wrapped in tinfoil, without any permanent cover. I tried the stick and couldn't go back to the TOBS bowl afterwards. The leather and smell was so much better (I know - personal opinion and all that). It was so nice, I removed the puck from the bowl, got my (wifes!) trusty grater and grated down the puck and pressed it into the bowl instead (remember - there is no cover for the stick). Looks like I'll have to take the bowl on holidays after all, but now with the Speick inside.
As with everything one purchases opinions vary, I've had both better and worse. Shaving.ie on the other hand provides great service and prices and will continue to patronize for the foreseeable future.
Have tried other sticks including Palmolive and Valobra but keep coming back to Speick fragrance is terrific but the slickness and after shave feel is second to none. This will always remain in my rotation.
This is my first soap stick and it has converted me to face lathering with the silvertip special brush sold here. No bowl to cleanup, way less prep time, and much improved results. The Speick cream is good but I get a closer, smoother shave with this. Makes enough lather for multiple passes but with my Merkur 37C slant and a quality blade I can get away with just one. I follow it up with the Speick splash and balm for minimal irritation on my usually dry skin. Great fragrance, lasts forever, cheap, small, a wonder product for me
This fantastic stick provides awesome lather with an epic natural and masculine fragrance. Cushioning and hydration are at the best despite my quite sensitive skin. This stick is well worth a try and set the bases of an excellent precision shave for those who love the German quality mixed with the advantages of a natural scent and composition. Definitely, it rocks !
